Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah is an Indian actress, playback performer as well as a musician. She works predominantly in Tamil as well as Malayalam movies that are based on the Tamil language. She made her acting debut in Tamil movie Pachaikili Muthucharam and Malayalam debut in Annayum Rasoolum. Andrea Jeremiah was born into an Anglo-Indian family living in the Arakkonam region of the capital of Tamil Nadu.Andrea's dad is an attorney at the Madras High Court. She has one younger sister who resides in Leuven Belgium as researcher assistant. Jeremiah, who was born in Chennai went to National Public School. He completed his studies at Women's Christian College. Andrea started studying classical piano around the age of eight. She was an avid fan of geeks and wanted to be a psychiatrist. Young Stars, a Jackson Five-style band she joined when she was 10, was her foundation for singing and composing music. She was also a theatre student at her school and performed in a variety of performances staged by The Madras Players and EVAM. She was also one of the Student Senate President at Women's Christian College. Andrea began her professional career in theatre with Girish Karanad's Nagamandala. Andrea was in a new Leo coffee advertisement together with actor Shiva in 2006. She also acted in a television show that aired on Podhigai. She acted throughout India. She played a brief part in the final scene in Kanda Naal Mudhal (2005). Gautham Menon enlisted Andrea to portray a lead character after she performed in the film Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. The film was an adaptation of the novel by James Siegel Derailed with Andrea playing Kalyani a homemaker her husband who is caught in a sexual affair and gets threatened with blackmail. Andrea was picked to play the character after actors Simran Tabu and Tabu were approached. The film was released in the early 2010s. She agreed in 2011 to play a minor support role in Venkatprabhu's multi-starrer Mankatha that was came out in August 2011. The actress made her Malayalam film debut with Rajeeev Rathi's Annayum Rasoolum in 2013.
